What is the Quincy Area Action council?
We are a group of active small business owners and NFIB members which meet four times a year to hear from lawmakers, politicians, and each other regarding statewide and national issues facing small businesses in the Quincy area. In addition, we receive timely updates from Springfield and Washington to give us the opportunity to have our voices heard on behalf of small business.

What is NFIB?
The National Federation of Independent Business is the nation's largest small-business advocacy group representing the consensus views of its 600,000 members in DC and all 50 state capitals.

In Illinois, our legislators need to be aware that any tax increases will make the economy in our state a whole lot worse than it is. The last thing we need to see happen in Illinois is business slowing down. There is an interesting article below you need to read concerning the outlook many small business owners have about our economy. I already see this happening in Illinois. I can’t imagine what things will be like if the GRT ever passes and the payroll tax becomes reality due to the push by the Governor to introduce universal health care in Illinois. All of this will affect how we run and operate our businesses.
